"I wish Karyn was here," Jon said. He wanted to make sure she was around when he made his wishes, otherwise her memories would change to fit the new reality. Although, unknown to Jon as of yet, no one's memories would change with the stone he now had.
The stone glowed, granting his wish, and Karyn appeared in his room, fully dressed and ready to go.
"Jon?" she asked. "What happened?"
"I used the stone to bring you here. I guess I couldn't wait to meet you at school."
"And how did you know that I'd be dressed?" she asked.
"Oops. I guess I didn't. Sorry, I was just too excited to get you over here."
Karyn didn't like Jon's carelessness, but she could at least understand it. The stone did make life more exciting, or at least more interesting.
"So, what were you going to wish for first?" she asked.
"Actually, something just came to mind. I wish ..." Jon began, not realizing that his wish would be granted to the entire world, and not just his town.
