When Jon awoke the next morning, he excitedly grabbed the stone. He knew exactly what he wanted to wish for. He planned it all out the previous night, so he could make sure he wouldn't mess it up.
But when he got a hold of the stone, he lost his balance and fell out of bed. He wasn't hurt, but he was embarrassed, even if no one saw him.
He got to his feet and clutched the stone in his hand, not realizing that what he really held was The Leadfoot Stone, which would cause him to mess up his wish, even if he tried not to.
