"Taking her power away is easy," Karyn said. "Now that she's dead, she can't stop me from wishing to know how she got it."
"Do it then," Athena said.
Karyn grasped the stone. "I don't know why I didn't think of doing this before. I wish I knew what gave Zoe her power." Because she wasn't always a goddess.
The stone glowed, granting her wish.
"Well?"
"Something called a Deity Stone was absorbed into her body, turning her into a goddess based on her personality and desires."
"Can you wish it out of her?"
"Yeah, I think so. I wish the Deity Stone was removed from Zoe's body."
The stone glowed and suddenly a small stone (nearly the same size as the wishing stone) pushed itself out of Zoe's body and sat on the floor.
Athena looked at the hallway before her, at the crowd of soldiers and servants that Zoe had created. With their minds returned to them, they obviously were freaking out about their new forms, whether they had been turned into half-animal creatures or Goths. With all the magic at her disposal, Athena wasn't sure if she could change all of them back. And part of her was delighted at the idea of having more Goths around, even though the new Goths weren't. The wishing stone could help a little, but the only thing she knew of that could help absolutely was the Deity Stone. With it, Zoe had created all of these followers, so it stood to reason that she could have also returned them to normal, using the same power.
Making the decision, and thinking that she had weighed all the risks, Athena crouched down and reached for the Deity Stone.
