"I wish that the ones fighting us would stop fighting us," Karyn said. The stone glowed, but nothing happened. The battle continued. It was now fairly obvious that Zoe's magic was more powerful than that of the stone. She had protected her subjects from the stone's power. But what if Karyn made a wish that indirectly affected them?
"I wish that the ones fighting us would become distracted by ... the appearance of a more menacing adversary, which wasn't harmful to me and the ones fighting with me." It was the only thing that Karyn could come up with, but it seemed effective. The stone glowed and suddenly a creature appeared in the area between the gym and the swimming pool room. It was enough of a distraction that Athena was able to get away. She pulled apart the web that Karyn was encased in. Then with Karyn's help, she tried to free Zelda from Madison's constricting snake tail.
The creature that was created by the wishing stone roared as the former-cheerleaders attacked it. The noise was so loud that they figured people would soon show up to see what all the racket was about.
Jon saw what was happening, but didn't try to help his Goddess' soldiers. He stayed where he was, keeping Trevor in his grasp. Sabrina and Stephanie tried their best to free Trevor, but they figured that Jon must have been using some sort of a holding spell to keep Trevor from moving. They didn't think that Zoe's followers knew magic, just like them. That fact may make their efforts more difficult.
As Zoe was completing her tenth soldier (his name was Ted and he was now a merman, that's a half-man**/**half-fish), she got a psychic message from Jon that the battle was not going so well. Her face contorted with anger. It was time for her to deal with the opposition herself.
She so wanted to change the third boy in the pool, but she had to go. He'd be trouble, if he ever got away, so she ordered Karl and Ted to kill him. They nodded and obeyed.
