"I wish I could see how I'd look with that tattoo I saw online."
Athena suppressed a sigh. Of course. The very first wish just had to be for something that could be verified or disproved immediately. Sure enough, Zoe reached down and yanked up her sleeve.
She gasped in delight. There, on her forearm, a detailed black snake curled its way from her elbow to just below her wrist. "It worked!" She squealed before throwing her arms around her friend in an a hug. Then, she quickly pulled back. "Oh, sorry about that. I know you don't like to be touched. But thank you so much!"
The other girl didn't react, though. She simply stood there with her mouth open. Inside, however, her mind raced. How did it work!? It was fake! Or was it?
Finally, she got her voice working again. "Uh, no problem. Just be careful with that, okay?"
Zoe nodded. "Don't worry. I'll be responsible. Whoops, look at the time! We'd better go to class."
As she hurried off, Athena shook herself. What was she doing? She couldn't just let her friend walk off with an actual magical object. Such a thing could turn out to be dangerous. Somehow, she needed to take a closer look at it.
With that thought in mind, she chased after her friend. Soon, the two of them unknowingly passed outside the Proximity Stone's "hearing" range.
