At that moment, Jon's bedroom door opened and Karyn walked in. "Hey, Jon. I just came by to see if ..." She stopped dead in her tracks. "Oh, hi Mrs. Gibson. Is Jon still here?"
"Karyn. I'm Jon."
"Jon? Why did you wish to be your mom?" she asked, figuring that Jon looking like his mom had something to do with the stone.
"I didn't. I just made a wish to be ready for school and suddenly I looked just like her."
"Maybe there's something wrong with it. Let me see it."
Jon handed the stone over.
Karyn looked closely at it. "Are you sure this is the same stone?"
"Of course it's the same. How many stones look exactly like that one? Or can grant wishes, for that matter?"
Karyn shrugged her shoulders.
"Is that you, Karyn?" a voice came from out in the hall. It was Jon's mother.
"Jon, your mom is coming. You better get out of sight. It would be really hard to explain why you look just like her," Karyn said, handing the stone back to him.
"Okay. I wish I was downstairs in the kitchen." The stone glowed, and suddenly Jon felt his body changing. Oh no! he thought. It's happening again.
