Thinking that they should at least try to get Zoe to use the stone, Jon and Karyn headed up to her bedroom.
Jon knocked on the door and after there was no answer, he knocked again. A moment later, the door opened, revealing a very perturbed Zoe. "What the fuck do you want?"
Not exactly the state of mind I wanted her in, Jon thought. "Zoe. This is going to sound strange, but ..."
"But what? Come on, Jon. I'm busy. I don't have any time for your shit."
"I have a wishing stone that only you can use. I need you to use it to get ..."
"Wishing stone?" Zoe asked, looking confused. Her eyes drifted down to something that was in Jon's hand. It looked like a small stone with a word etched into it. She grabbed it out of his hand and looked at it. It wasn't a word. It was a name. Her name. "Are you playing a joke on me? Because if you are, you can just go fuck yourselves."
"It's not a joke," Karyn said. Then she turned towards Jon. "I had a feeling this was a mistake. Maybe we can find someone else named Zoe who's more ... reliable."
"Well, if this really is a wishing stone," Zoe said. "Then I wish ..."
