Mike "The Moose" Mathews opened his eyes, at the sound of his alarm clock. From the look of the beams of light shining through his window, it looked like it was going to be a very sunny day. Which was good, because he was hoping it wouldn't rain during football practice. The coach made them practice no matter what the weather was.
After turning off his alarm, he saw a small rock sitting on his desk, along with a note. The handwriting on the note was messy (like someone wrote it in a hurry), but still readable:
*This stone grants an unlimited number of wishes! Please try it!
- A Friend*
He stood up from his bed and got a closer look at it, thinking that it was someone's idea of a joke. Wish-granting stones? That was ridiculous.
He picked it up and (not believing anything would happen) said "I wish ..."
