"What did you do to her!" Jon yelled.
"I just sapped a little bit of energy from her. Magical energy, to be more specific. And, mmmm. It tasted so good."
"She doesn't remember the stone."
"Of course she doesn't. I took everything related to the stone from her. Her 'enhancements' and her knowledge. And now, it's your turn."
"No. Stay away," Jon said. But he didn't seem very authoritative. After what had just happened to Karyn, Jon felt more helpless than ever. Who knew what this guy would do to him?
"This will all be over soon," the man said. "I just have to be more careful with you. I can't have reality changing back to normal."
"What? Why?" Jon hoped his questioning could stall the guy from doing whatever he was going to do. Jon wasn't sure what he was stalling for, but he felt like he should do something.
"If I bring back the stone," the man explained. "Then I'll be imprisoned again. I can't let that happen." He paused, then said "Now, no more stalling."
He waved his hand and suddenly Jon felt himself float up into the air.
