As Jon tried to find a way out, there was bright flash of light in the middle of the room. He turned and saw a creepy-looking man dressed in black.
"Who are you?" Jon asked.
The man smiled and then began to clap. "Bravo. Nicely done."
"Who are you?" Jon demanded.
The man walked to the window that looked out onto the Martian landscape. "You are so very far from home. Aren't you, Jon?" he asked, turning back towards Jon. "And because of your wishing, you can never return."
"How do you know about that?"
The man smiled, exposing his crooked rotting teeth. "I came into your bedroom last night and was about to swap your stone with another one, but I decided to keep your stone exactly where it was."
"You were in my room?"
"But then I came back after you awoke and ... made things a little more interesting."
"What do you mean by that?"
"I cast a spell on you and your friend. It caused you to make unwise wishes. And, oh my, did you."
"You're the reason that Karyn was making a bunch of stupid wishes?"
"And you also."
"I didn't wish for anything stupid," Jon said.
"You don't notice yet because the spell is still in effect." The man grabbed a pocket watch out of his vest pocket. "Ah, and it's done."
Suddenly, Jon felt light-headed. When his mind cleared, he realized what he had done. Why did he wish Karyn to be naked? Why did he wish to be ultra muscular? Why did he wish for larger balls? Why did he think that Karyn accidentally getting pregnant by her boyfriend was the same thing as rape? And why did he wish that he was the most masculine person on the planet forever?
"I see that you're recalling all of your unwise decisions." The man laughed.
"It's not funny! Because of you, I can never go back to Earth. I'm stuck here forever."
"Oh, please, Jon. Don't blame me. You're the one that made the wish. I just gave you a little push, that's all." He paused, then continued. "Now, I must be leaving. I still need to pay your friend a visit. Before she gets married."
"Married?" Jon asked. "What do you mean by ..."
Suddenly, there was a bright flash of light and the man was gone.
Jon was alone again.
