"You got that right," Sarah said, angrily. "I can't believe Nicole threw me off the squad because of my hair. Who cares if I dye my hair red? That doesn't make me any less good at being a cheerleader. Nicole is such a fucking bitch."
Zelda blinked. She knew Sarah McMillan. Or at least, she thought she did. Her memories were so confusing lately. But didn't Sarah usually have long blonde hair, not short dyed-red hair? And thrown off the cheerleading squad? She thought that Sarah was the head cheerleader. But the more Zelda thought about it, the less that sounded right. No, Nicole Sullivan was the head of the squad. Why did she think otherwise?
"And she couldn't even tell me in person. She had to send me a fucking text!"
"Language!" the office secretary hissed.
"Sorry," Sarah said, rolling her eyes. "It's why I ended up here. I guess my temper got the best of me in class. I said some things to Miss Smith that maybe I shouldn't have. I'm probably going to end up with detention. Ugh, I'm Sarah McMillan. I don't get detention. What are my parents going to think?"
A moment later, the door to the principal's office opened and Principal Davison came out.
