Suddenly, the boulder began to glow. Joan jumped off of it in surprise and felt herself changing. She looked down at herself and watched as her body became more and more muscular and her smooth soft skin became tough, like a man's. But in the end, she still remained female.
When Tom came back in, Joan saw that he looked different too. He wasn't muscular anymore, not at all. In fact, he looked quite lanky.
"Uh ... I think this might work," he said, with a much less confident tone of voice. He sounded wimpy. And Joan also noticed that his skin was smoother and softer, like a woman's. But he was still clearly male.
What had happened? Joan remembered her wish and the boulder glowing. Could it be that her wish was granted? If so, it meant that all men were like Tom was right now: wimps. And all women were like Joan was right now: hunks.
