Jon's mom groggily turned off her beeping alarm and stirred from the king-size bed. Her husband still slept soundly, so she was careful not to wake him yet. But the kids had to be at school in a half hour, so she put on her robe and walked out into the hall. In her drowzy state, she failed to notice the stone sitting on the table beside the bed.
Once she made sure both Jon and Zoe were getting ready for school, she went back to her room to begin getting ready. That's when something caught her eye. A note on the bedside table, resting on a rock. It said:
"MAKE A WISH"
Linda was confused at this. Was it a gift from her husband? Curious, she picked it up. "Hmmm... I wonder..." she said. Just to test, she made a wish.
"I wish I was showered and dressed for work."
In a blink of an eye, Linda felt different. She looked down and saw herself wearing a slim grey skirt suit, with sheer black stockings and black patent-leather pumps. Shocked, she almost tripped over her 3-inch heels.
"This is unbelievable! My wish was granted!" She went over and looked in the mirror. She had never seen the suit before, but she had to admit it looked perfect on her. But her face was still without makeup and shoulder-length blonde hair was still damp, as though she had recently stepped out of the shower. I guess this thing is pretty literal She thought.
"Alright... What else then?" She looked down at her still sleeping husband, and had several ideas. But then she decided it could wait. She didn't want to miss work, after all. "I wish I had on my jewelry, a suitable amount of makeup for work, and that my hair was dry and styled in the way I normally wear it to work." Linda blinked again, and her face was perfectly made up, some foundation, a dash of eyeshadow and mascara, and pale pink lipstick. Silver hoops adorned her ears, and her hair was dry and nicely styled. Linda Madison headed downstairs, happy that she'd be early to work for once. But then stopped in her tracks at what she saw.
Jon was waiting by the door, holding two matching purses.
"There you are Mom. Wow, we might be on time for once!" He said jokingly.
Linda was speechless. Jon was wearing the exact same outfit she was. His face was lightly coated in makeup, and he was wearing the same earrings. Even his brown hair was longer, and styled just like hers. He walked over to her, downright gracefully in 3-inch heels, and handed her one of the purses.
"You know, mom. We really shouldn't wear the same outfit to work all the time. People will think we planned this or something!"
Linda wasn't quite sure what to say.
