Karyn debated on whether she should call Jon and tell him that she found his stone or not. But eventually she decided it was best to tell him. Karyn didn't think it was right to keep something like this from her best friend. She wouldn't have even known about the stone if her friend Jon hadn't shown her it.
Karyn picked up her phone and called Jon.
Jon woke up when he heard his cellphone ring. "Karyn? What is it?" Jon yawned.
"Jon, I'm not sure how this happened, but I have your stone."
"Huh?" Jon looked at his nightstand. There was the stone, right where he left it. "Are you sure? Because the stone is still here."
Now Karyn was confused. "How could that be?"
"Maybe it's only something that looks like my stone." Jon was too tired to have this conversation. "Look, Karyn. I really need a little more sleep. Let's get together before school and figure it all out. Okay?"
She was about to say "no", that this might be important, but Jon hung up on her.
What was Karyn going to do? Wait to talk with Jon? Or figure this out on her own?
