Lonna had spent the morning looking for a reason to visit Lauren in her old classroom but none of the reasons she came up with acceptable to her teachers that morning. She had now gone the last three hours living the life of the high school student that she appeared to be.
Deep down inside she knew that she needed to check in with Lauren to see her evening and now morning had been. With the ringing of the bell for lunch she now had that chance that she had been looking for. She sent Jake a text to say that she had to speak to Ms. Tran grimacing as she typed the name that by all rights should still be hers. While she was trying to justify to her boyfriend why she wouldn’t meet him for lunch.
Everything was so mixed up in her head. One second, she knew that she was a teacher at this school and not a student no matter what anyone else told her.
She reached the chemistry classroom door and reached to turn the handle, thinking that Lauren would be waiting in the room for her as she had been the day before. Desperately wanting to see want Lonna had been doing with her life since they had last seen each other the day before.
Lonna turned the handle only to find the door locked. She looked through the glass panel on the door to see the empty room that lay beyond the door. Where was she was the only thought that was running through Lonna’s head.
Little did she know that just five minutes before she had turned up at the now locked door Mary had arrived to speak to Lauren. “Hi Lonna, are you doing anything for lunch today?” Mary asked Lauren. “No, I have nothing planned as such. I was going to grab a coffee and a sandwich from that new place in the city center and then do some marking.” Lauren replied much to her surprise.
The last thing she wanted to do was mark someone else's homework. She had spent the whole morning teaching her different classes and all she was looking for was a bit of time on her own.
“Great let me get it for you my treat. I have a favour to ask you.” Mary said looking a little shamefaced. “Something tells me that I might regret this. After all, they do say there is no such thing as a free lunch.” Lauren answered her as the two erstwhile friends walked out of the classroom together. Lauren then turned and locked the door and then walked down the corridor. Just as she disappeared out of the door towards the car park. A certain student reached the other end of the corridor and stopped outside the same door that the two teachers had just locked behind them.
