Mikey could hear several people running after he had screamed. The first to arrive was his mother, followed by his brother Jon.
His mother opened the door. "Mikey, are you all right?" she said. "It is you, isn't it? How could you have done something so stupid... taken Jon's magic body wash?"
"Mom, you know about it?" said Jon.
Jon's mother blinked, confused. "I did buy it for you, you know. It was on sale. I must admit I never expected to see a magic shop appear and disappear like that. Dad, your grandfather, was the only one in the family who's ever done anything with magic..."
Jon himself was confused too, until he realized: the stone makes it seem like whatever you wish for is normal. Jon's wish was for a bottle of magic body wash. People wouldn't think that it was normal for Mikey to be a woman. They'd think it was normal that he had a bottle of magic body wash.
He didn't yet suspect it was also the wrong stone--for all he knew he just didn't phrase the wish properly.
"Now," said his mother, "what are we going to do with Mikey?"
