"And what about my father?"
"Ah, Rodney," Amber smiled. "Well our relationship is a long story, and you'll be late for school! I'll be happy to explain it to you this afternoon, but you must hurry!"
Zoe and her goth girlfriend stomped down the stairs in platform boots, holding hands. Mikey and his older girlfriend followed them down.
"The gang's all here!" Amber laughed. "Morning Zoe, Chastity."
"It's Chastisse now," the goth on Zoe's arm replied.
"Sorry my fault, Chastisse," Amber apologise. Zoe and Chastisse merely tutted in response.
"Good morning, Mikey and Valerie," Amber tried again.
"Morning Amber," Mikey replied, while his hand - Jon -noticed - was stroking Valerie's plump behind.
"Morning Amber," Valerie smiled as if nothing was amiss.
"Valerie, make sure you drop Mikey off at his school before the rest of you get to high school. Okay?"
"Of course, I'll take care of my man," Valerie leaned down and kissed her boyfriend on the forehead.
"Don't you find that just a little creepy?" Lola whispered in Jon's ear, to his surprise and also relief. He nodded in silent agreement.
"Let's go," Jon picked up his schoolbag and walked out the door. Lola followed closely behind and Jon could feel her with one hand holding the tail of his shirt.
Zoe and Chastity - sorry, Chastisse - rolled their eyes at such a show of public affection and followed them out the door, still holding hands.
Amber handed Mikey his packed lunch and waved to him and Valerie as they followed the other four.
"Ah finally," she sighed.
With the house to herself, Amber hummed joyfully to herself as she set about cleaning the house in nothing but a frilly apron and high heels.
