The next morning, Jon woke up bright and early. His sleep had not been restful, but he found he was too full of energy and curiosity to care. He'd experienced many vivid dreams in his sleep, all about that wishing rock, and he couldn't wait to test it out thoroughly.
Jon picked the stone up from his desk, it looked a little different and felt heavier than he remembered, but he'd not examined the stone at all closely or even held it for long since he got it. Just to be sure he tried a simple wish.
"I wish a delicious ham sandwich would appear in my right hand."
Sure enough, a sandwich popped into existence in the palm of Jon's outstretched hand. He took a bite, and it was delicious. This was definitely his magic wishing rock, there was no doubt.
Unknown to Jon, his wish caused wider-reaching changes. A delicious ham sandwich spawned in the hand of every member of his family within the house. His brother Mikey rolled on top of his sandwich in his sleep, crushing it. His mother accidentally pulled a sandwich out of the fridge instead of the carton of milk she was going for, so she kindly replaced it. His sister Zoe recoiled in disgust at the soggy (but still delicious) ham sandwich that sat atop the soap dish in the shower. Who the hell left that there?
Back in his bedroom, Jon held the rock up before him and spoke clearly into it, "I wish...
