"You can use the wishes you already made," said Karyn.
"But I didn't make any wishes before," said Jon. "Nothing I can use anyway.
"Yes you did," said Karyn. "People think it's normal you have a girlfriend who's you and created by magic. If they think that's normal, you can tell them about magic, right? Ask for help?"
"Hmm," said Jonnie. "Jon, you can ask M-- uhh, you can ask your Mom. If I'm your girlfriend she can't also be my Mom... Anyway, she could really know something, if she heard it from Grandpa."
"You want to know what?" asked Jon's mother.
"I want to know," explained Jon, "if Grandpa ever mentioned anything to you having to do with magic. Magic rocks, magic lamps, magic spells, anything of that sort at all."
"I don't know," she replied. "Let me think. Oh, yeah, magic. Well, he...."
