"I wish Jon would walk away, leaving only girls in this room."
Nothing happened, or at least seemed to happen.
"Why didn't it..." said Karyn. "Jon, what did you do?!"
"I've been trying to tell you, Karyn. I didn't do anything, and I'm certainly not a Peeping Tom. The stone is messed up! I wished I'd appear next to you, and it would have been fine in the morning. It just delayed itself until later, so I appeared next to you while you were dressing."
"Fine," said Karyn. "Here's your stone back." She handed the stone to him, but added "Now please get out."
"How did you--" asked a girl. "You just appeared out of thin air..."
Jon lowered his eyes to the floor and said "It's a long story. I did appear out of thin air, and I wasn't exactly trying. Now please let me leave..." He really didn't want to be pummelled by a dozen girls, or taken to the principal's office for peeping.
The girls, however, did let Jon leave. Maybe seeing him pop in out of thin air made them more likely to believe that he wasn't just a normal Peeping Tom. Jon left the room and returned to his physics class, where everyone was already talking about the impossible physics experiment of making a human being vanish from thin air.
Nobody ever figured out that "experiment", of course.
But a little later, Karyn's wish went off, and she wasn't in the locker room at the time...
