"I wish Jon knew how I felt about him," Karyn said, in a near whisper. Too bad, because if she had been louder, it may have been granted. Instead, the stone only heard the wish "I wish Don knew how I melt about him."
The stone glowed, granting the wish. But the stone didn't grant the wish she said, only the one it heard.
On the other side of the neighborhood, a boy named Don suddenly knew something he didn't know before. He realized how when a girl named Karyn Black thought about him, her heart melted. He had no idea who she was, but he knew that she was madly in love with him.
"Karyn? Are you okay?" Jon asked, noticing the strange look on his friend's face.
She didn't know how to answer. Suddenly, she felt different. Like she was in love. But not with Jon. It was with someone named ... Don? "I ... I have to go," she said, handing the stone back to Jon. She needed to find Don and tell him how she felt about him. She was madly in love with him, despite the fact that she had no idea who he was. But the moment she saw him, she'd recognize him.
