"What! Why would you say that? How can that be true?" Jon blurted out.
"I'm sorry, Jon. I knew this would upset you, and that's why I kept putting off telling you. But at least now all the sneaking around can stop," his mom said.
"What sneaking around?" Jon asked, knowing he probably wouldn't like the answer. Nevertheless he had to know.
"Well, like right now, Karyn and Zoe are together in Zoe's room, and Karyn's mother is waiting in my bedroom," Jon's mother revealed.
"What! How can that be?" Jon pleaded.
"Well, I know what you mean. Zoe and I really don't like them very much. They just came over with the McMillans."
"The Mc... Sarah and her mom? They're lesbians, and they're here too?" Jon squeaked.
"I'm sorry to hit you with all this at once, but yes, Jon, what you say is true."
What about Mr. McMillan?" Jon asked, hoping for some shred of normalcy.
"He and Sarah's brother are downstairs with Joseph and his dad," Jon's mom admitted.
"And while all of this is going on, you've been collecting laundry?" Jon asked incredulously.
"Somehow we ended up with a lot of messy linens and lingere tonight, and we didn't want you to wake up in teh morning and find it," she explained.
"Argh!," Jon shouted. "I wish none of this was happening!"
