"...that i didn't have to go to school for a while." jon said.
nothing happened. the twisted rock would grant his wish, but not in an expected way. jon put the rock in his safe and said, "that's odd."
jon began to walk down the stairs. all of a sudden, everything went dark and he collapsed.
---several hours later---
jon woke up and was immediately disoriented. he could not figure out where he was. he sat, dazed for a while, trying to figure out where he was. his head hurt. he tried to rub it, and then immediately noticed it was bandaged. everything cleared all of a sudden. jon noticed that he was lying in a hospital bed. a nearby clipboard had some nondescript scribbles and "new york hospital" printed on it.
jon sat up. "wha..." he mumbled. he saw his mom, dad, and sister zoe (in her usual goth clothes) at the foot of the bed. "mom? dad? what's going on?"
"you collapsed," his mom said. "we called 911, and they took you here."
"but... we live in pennysylvania. why here?"
"well," his dad said. "they took you there first, but the doctors said that they saw something very unusual, so they had you airlifted here."
all of a sudden it hit jon. i wished for a reason to not go to school for a while, he thought. this must be it!
a doctor walked in. "good evening, jon," he said. "i'm doctor fisher. now, i have something to show you......
