Jon stared at his reflection. He couldn't believe his eyes. For some reason, the stone not only turned him into a girl, but an attractive one at that. "What the hell?" he asked, with his new soprano voice.
From out in the hall, he heard his mother calling for him, except she wasn't using his name.
"Jenna? Are you up? Time to get up for school." She knocked on his door.
"What's happening?" Jon breathed to himself, as he hesitantly opened the door.
"Oh, you are up," his mom said. She looked him up and down, then grinned. "Have I told you lately what a nice girl you turned out to be?"
No, you've never told me that, Jon thought.
"Now if only it happened to your sister too. Honestly, I don't understand why a girl would want to wear all that dark make-up and black clothes." She shook her head, then walked down the hall.
Jon immediately shut his door. Why did the stone make him a girl? He didn't wish for that.
