"You know, Zoe, sometimes I wish that you would just stay away when Jon is around. How am I supposed to get your brother to notice me when you're always making it so difficult for me? Taking his lucky rock is just the newest thing." Athena just kept talking, not even realizing that her wish had been granted by Jon's "lucky rock". I tried to stop her, but I knew that as soon as she said those two words ("I" and "wish"), it was too late.
And there couldn't have been a worse wish to make, right? How was I supposed to explain all of this to Jon if I couldn't be near him? Now I was even more afraid of what might happen to me. If I couldn't explain myself to Jon, then what's to stop him from making a wish to erase my memory of the wishing stone or something just as bad?
Athena really put me in tight spot.
