Nothing appeared to happen so he just shrugged it off and headed downstairs for food.
"Oh Jonny dear," called out his mother, seeing him coming down the stairs. "Come have a look at your sister's class photo."
"Moooommm!" Michelle protested, embarrassed. Jon rolled his eyes and walked over, standing behind the couch where his parents and sister sat to get a look. He scanned the photo for his sister and spotted her standing at the back of the group, her best friends on either side of her. Jon smiled wryly, recognizing them as Karyn's little brother and his friend Trevor's little sister.
"So who's the kid you've been having trouble with, sweetie?" asked their father.
"Him," pouted Michelle, pointing to a blond boy two rows in front. "Sam McMillan. So mean!"
Jon blinked "McMillan? As in Sarah McMillan, the cheerleader in my class?"
Michelle shrugged, but her mother nodded. "I was talking to her mother about it recently and we were chuckling over the coincidence that we had two kids the same age each."
"Should have got together with Trevor and Karyn's moms as well," Jon snarled. "Would have been a right hoot."
His father laughed. "You're not going to believe this," he chuckled, "but I was talking to Butch Meadows at work yesterday, and we noted the same thing. His son is in your class, Jon, and his daughter is in yours, Michelle."
"Don't remind me," Jon grimaced.
"I can't stand Brittany," Michelle sighed. "She thinks she's so much better than everyone else."
"My, that's a lot of coincidences," Mom chuckled. "Wonder how more there could be?"
