Jon opened the door to find Karyn standing outside. "Oh hey Karyn." Jon said making sure to sound like Zoe.
Karyn looked at him with a hint of disgust. Jon was surprised for a moment. He had never seen her look at him that way before but then he remembered that he was currently dressed like Zoe. Karyn and Zoe didn't really get along that well.
"Hey..." Karyn replied trailing off. She seemed a bit distracted. "Is Jon home?" She asked.
"Oh, um..." Jon said pausing while trying to think of a good excuse as to why he wasn't home.
Just then his mother came out from the kitchen. "Oh hello Karyn." She said. "I thought that it was you. Are you looking for Jon?" She asked.
Karyn nodded.
"Well, I got a text from him earlier saying that he was going to stop at the mall on the way home from school for something." Jon's mom said giving Jon a knowing look. Jon breathed a sigh of relief.
"Oh, ok." Karyn said looking a little dejected. "I thought that he would have told me. We were supposed to hang out this afternoon." She said.
Inwardly Jon groaned. How could he have forgotten that? He guessed that it was because he had got so excited to try out his new wish.
"Oh don't worry about it dear." His mom said glancing towards Jon. "I'm sure it's nothing. You could probably meet him at the mall. I'm sure that he'd like that."
Karyn nodded. "Ok, I'll do that. Thanks Mrs. Gibson." With that she said goodbye and then turned around and headed off to the mall.
Closing the door Jon let out a sigh. "Thanks mom." He said.
"No problem sweetie." She said. "Just be more careful next time when you're pretending to be Zoe." She told him.
Jon nodded. "I will mom, thanks again."
His mom nodded smiling. "Now go on, quickly use your powers to get to the mall as Jon." She said.
Jon nodded and then rushed upstairs to his bedroom to change in to Jon mode.
