Suzie's companion continued to glare at me as I backed away from them. Deciding that this was the wrong time to confront him, I walked back down the street. I watched as they continued their conversation, though it seemed as if he was doing most of the talking and she would just nod and accept whatever he said. As they passed me and headed into one of the festhalls down the street, I decided that I had to find out who he was.
I walked into the festhall pausing just long enough under the sign "The Wink and the Kiss" to make sure they didn't notice they were being followed. As I waited there, I noticed some other people walk past me, some wearing enough rings and amulets that I realized that this must be one of the high-level festhalls, where all the elite players came to spend their money and time away from all their adventuring. They looked down at me and my outfit as if i was nothing more than gutter trash to them, a newbie. I was too engrossed with looking at the wealth around me, I didn't even notice two men approach me.
"What are you doing here?" one of them asked.
I had to think of an answer quick, before I lost track of Suzie and her unknown companion.
