The litter was caries by four servants in the red garb of the army. I had forgotten that servants also wore red. They wore strapless, form fitting gowns but their gloves were as long as mine. Their hair was red and just came to their shoulders. Interestingly, their faces lacked any kind of makeup except for bright red lipstick and looked like the faces of young girls. When they lifted up, one of them slipped just enough for me to noticed. I looked at her and raised my eyebrow just a little and a look of terror crossed her face, but decided to let it pass. I knee some queens would have the servant killed just for a minor mishap but I wasn't like that. As we moved away, I saw two guards close the doors and stand guard, wielding clean but very dangerous looking shotguns.'
As we moved forward across the blue carpet, I remembered that Madison and Miranda were my oldest friends, the same age as I and my companions for life. We began to talk and giggle to each other, and for a moment forgot we were a queen and her handmaidens.'
Abruptly, we came to another set of doors, which lead to the nearing room of my summer palace. Normally important meeting wouldn't be held here, but since I had come here just recently to be with my sisters we had to have a quick emergency meeting here. The policy was, the nobles come to the queen.'
The doors were opened, revealing a large room of very dark blue. The only piece of futurist was a large oak table with 5 carved thrones on either side. In each of these sat a beautiful lady, class in rich blue dresses. As my litter passed through the door, they all stood up and curtsied so wide I thought they did the splits. They would remain standing until I gave the command for them to sit down. I knew some of my ancestors would force them to stand for hours, just to prove their loyalty. But we didn't have time for that today.'
"Please be seated." My eyes opened slightly in surprise. I hadn't realized before how high and breathy my face was. It had almost a singsong, musical quality. It was also slightly seductive. But I didn't have time to think about that now.
The 10 women in front of me were the emergency council. They included my two highest ranking generals, the seven governesses of the seven regions currently experiencing riots and my chief advisor. In reality, they could all decide on action on their own, but I had to give the official ruling. One of the governesses stood up. I believe her name was Ellie.
"Your majesty, Lady Jessica," she said curtsying again. "Esteemed ladies of the court. This meeting has been called because of a matter of grave importance. Some of you already know why you are here. For those who weren't informed on time, here is a recap.
"I am the governess of the recently acquired system of Harluban. Unfortunately, our efforts to, teach, them our ways has been, well, ineffective. The people of that system, who greatly resemble the pigs that they are, refuse to submit to our just rule. Before they had simply been ignoring our edicts. But last week they went to far. They stormed into our cities on all planets in that system and, slaughtered the children as they played in the streets."'
A gasp passed my lips. One gloved had went to my lips, the other to my bosom, over my heart. "My dear, not the children," I whispered quietly.
"Yes," Ellie continued, "it seems that they are a mindlessly aggressive race. They could have gone after less precious targets, but instead they attacked something that would go right to our hearts."
Thick, hot tears began rolling down my face. Madison and Miranda gave loud, racking sobs and leaned on my shoulders. We hugged each other and just cried. We all were overcome with powerful emotions.
Ever since my mother passed, I had taken care of my sisters. Even before that I had always taken care of them when Mom was away on business. I had developed a strong maternal instinct over the years, and it spread to all children.'
"And it gets worse," said another governess when I was done. "These evil animals have made alliances with rebel groups on six other star systems. It appears that they are attempting to form a rival nation."
"Lady Emily," I said, turning to my advisor, "What do you suggest is necessary to end this rebellion?"
"As of yet, this rebel alliance poses no threat to Your Majesty's great empire. They are weak and have little order or military. If, however they were to befriend one of our more powerful rivals, they could very quickly pose a serious threat. I think that we must move quickly, and destroy them before they can even get started."
"Very good. Esmeralda and Elizabeth, send all available units to the sites of these rebellions. Hopefully we can end this before anything worse happens."
