When Jon realized what the dog might be doing, he was suddenly glad he couldn't see in this form. After the relief of pressure he felt like he was stretched out--no, like he was in two places at once, but what little he felt from being in the second place was bad-tasting and foul.
Then he realized what had happened. When he turned into the dog's balls, any sperm that came out of the dog was part of him. He was partly on the dog and partly inside the other dog.
Does a sperm which makes a dog pregnant still count as part of himself? He didn't know. But it could be bad. If it counted as part of himself, then half of each puppy would be part of him. He didn't know what it would even mean to be half of something, but he'd find out. And when he turned back at the end of the two months, all parts of him would turn back. How does that work when parts of him are half-puppies?
And if it didn't count as part of himself, just as stuff that came from him, then there would simply be puppies with Jon as the father. He didn't exactly want that, either. What could he do, wish them human?
Jon tried to remember, then, just how long a dog's gestation was. Then he recalled something he had heard on a TV show. A dog's gestation was two months --exactly the wrong period of time for his predicament....
