It was Steve Farber. Jon stared. There was no doubting it. He had titanic knockers, an obviously pregnant belly and a young daughter the same age as Madison. But above all that, was the face of the school jock and all around jerk, Steve Farber.
Steve was still talking. "I brought Becky to the park today so that she could burn off a little of her excess energy," he said. "I love her to death, but with another baby on the way, I'm always exhausted." Steve sat down next to Jon and caressed his expanding belly. "I'm bigger this time than I was with Becky, so I'm thinking of having an ultrasound to see if I'm having twins or something. I'm so glad you're here, too. Its so lonely to be the only male mom here." Madison finished nursing and went to play with Becky. Jon covered up. He felt somewhat awkward. Steve was being nice and that was almost as creepy as seeing him pregnant and with knockers.
"Yeah, I love Madison, too, Steve," Jon said. "They grow up so fast. It seems like only yesterday I found out that I was pregnant with her."
"Judy, Emily, Judy," said Steve. "We've had our female names since we were ten, and you still sometimes call me Steve." Steve/Judy leaned over and kissed Jon/Emily on the cheek. "But I know how you feel. Being eleven and pregnant. Its scary and wonderful at the same time. I'm so glad it helped us become friends. Giving birth on the same day in the same room? How was that for bonding, huh?"
"Yeah," said Emily. Steve, I mean Judy, is my friend now? he thought. And our girls have the same birthday? How likely is that? The two of them stayed on the bench until their daughters wanted to go home. Emily and Judy kissed good-bye and took their daughters back.
