"A Siamese Twin?" asked Karyn.
"Yes," said the nurse. "You will be physically merged with another individual who is undergoing the same punishment. Most individuals are completely merged, except for their heads and necks, which will stay separate. This will result in two heads sharing the same body. Each individual will have control over thier half of the body. Usually, both individuals are of the same gender, but a few cross-gender mergers do occur, usually to increase the discomfort factor of both individuals for the purposes of the punishment. Senses, like touch and taste, will go to both brains, so you both feel every sensation that your body picks up. Your sight is the only sense that will go only to the brain of the individual who sees the image; we didn't want to cause unecesessary confusion or injury having both of you see two images all the time."
"Do they know who I'm going to be merged with," asked Karyn, "or are they still waiting to find someone who's punishment matches mine?"
"Actually," said the nurse, taking the file and flipping to the third page from the front, "we do have someone in mind. The name is right here."
