"You will be changed into human furniture."
"Human furniture?" asked Jon. "What does that mean?"
"It means that you will become part person and part furniture," said the nurse. "Naturally, you will get to choose what type of furniture you are merged with and to what extent you are incorporated. Some forms will let you be human from waist up and furniture from waist down. Others might have only your head human, while the rest becomes furniture. You will, of course, have your personality altered so that you enjoy your new form and whatever functions that go along with it."
The nurse handed Jon a file with lists of different combinations that he could choose from. "Don't worry," said the nurse. "It looks a lot worse than it is. You still have your free will, even with your altered personality, and everyone who has had this transformation has loved it. Now, I want you to look through those files. I'll be back tomorrow to help you finish up." The nurse left the room. Jon wondered if he had made the right decision.
