When no one answered immediately, Zane’s mother Lin, took the lead.
“Well, Nathen, since this is your first time... Why don’t you pick first?”
“Alright,” Nathen replied, rather excitedly. She was eager to see how the game worked from this side of things. She remembered that time when Zane’s mom had picked to play her for one week and then there was that time that Zane had picked her dad. That one was a little creepy, having her best friend act as her mother for a week.

“Who’s Cherry Marineza?” Zane’s father, Romelia, asked.
“He’s a boy in our year,” Zane explained. “And he’s a bit of a dog.”
Romelia gasped.
“Zane, honey! That’s not a very nice thing to say about a boy.”
Zane shrugged her shoulders.
“I’m sorry, dad, but he is.” Zane decided to change the subject.
“Who’s next?”
