Jordan looked away from Jon. "Yeah, he designed it."
Jon was speechless. "H-how...What...Then why are you being punished! If your Dad designed it, then shouldn't you get some kind of lenience. I'm sure that what ever you did couldn't be so bad."
Jordan quickly turned his head toward the mirror ahead of them, so he could look Jon in the eyes. "I did get lenience on my sentence for what I did! I-I..." Jordan was close to tears. Jon could feel the emotion pouring of Jordan, his whole side was shaking.
Jon was unsure what to do. He had obviously hit a nerve. Jon wrapped his arm around their chest, in a one-arm hug. "Jordan, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up. I didn't mean to upset you."
Jordan quietly replied, "No, its not your fault. I am still haunted by what I have done. You should know why I was punished, let's sit down first though."
They walked over to their bed and sat down facing the mirror so they could still see each other's face. Jordan continued, letting the tears fall. "About a month ago. I was in my Dad's Lab. It was take your kid to work day. He was working on a new formula for some transformation treatment with a couple of his co-workers."
Jon wrapped his arm around their chest again, hugging a little harder. He wanted to comfort Jordan as he told what happened. Jordan continued, "A couple other kids and I were fooling around as walked around the lab. One of this kids from the other scientist said something horrible about my dad. I-I don't even remember what it is now."
Jordan took a deep breath and then continued, "I got really angry at him. I shoved him really hard against a counter. I-I didn't want to hurt him; I just wanted him to shut-up. The kid, he fell against some active chemicals. They all spilled on top of him. None of the other kids or I knew what to do, and the boy just kept on screaming. Finally, some workers rushed in to see what the ruckus was. They found us, and the boy seizing on the ground."
Jordan swallowed hard, and turned his head away from the mirror as he started again. "I found out later that the boy had been paralyzed. The chemicals had scarred up his entire body, and destroyed his muscles. He was a star soccer player, but now he wouldn't even be able to take care of himself. My sentence was originally going to be a similar parallelization, but my Dad used his influence to lighten my sentence."
Jordan turned his head back to look at Jon in the mirror. Jon looked directly into Jordan's eyes. "Jordan, I have been...stuck with you for awhile now. I know how kind you really are. I know that you would never intentionally do something like that or even wish it on your worst enemy. You don't deserve any sentence, but I am glad you were given a lighter one. If you hadn't, I never would have met you."
That brought a smile to Jordan's face. Jordan used his hand to wipe the tears away. "Thanks Jon." Jordan then wrapped his arm around their chest, to return the hug Jon gave him. They continued to sit there in silence, simply enjoying each other's company.
