“And cut! Great job everyone! Best rehearsal yet!” Professor Guster congratulated the dazed cast as they went backstage to get out of wardrobe. “Thanks, Dr. Mysterioso, I’ll see you after closing in two weeks.”
“Anything for the arts.” Dr. Mysterioso smiled. He had a hunch things wouldn’t go according to plan. Not that he minded.
“Is it just me or did rehearsal go by so quick?” Beth said as she let her hair down.
“Yea, definitely. I feel like I just got here. Can you help me take this frumpy old lady costume off? I feel ridiculous.” Gianna gestures to a zipper.
“You think that’s bad? Least your character commands respect. My character makes me sound like a fool. I am an honor student, not some naive little kid. I better get lead role next semester and my character better have some depth.”
“Next semester, I want my character to at least look attractive for the press photos. No one’s going to think the actress who plays grandma is a star.”
Later that night, Giana was ready to let loose. She made it her mission to make herself feel pretty again. She invited her best girlfriends over before they met the guys.
“Woah Giana, that look will turn some heads.” Caroline said.
“That’s the idea. What about you? You trying to impress anyone?”
“As if, these guys will have to work if they want any action.” Caroline winked.
Giana’s eyes glazed over. “I am Grandma” she thought to herself as she blinked and hunched over.
