Nothing happened immediately, and Jon went to bed thinking everything was fine. The next day, however, when he arrived at school, he received a text on his phone from his frenemy, Jerry Conner, that said, "Don't forget the club meeting in Computer Lab B during lunch." Jon had no idea what Jerry was talking about, but he decided he would check it out.

Jerry and Jon were not on the best of terms. They were both part of that clique that is not a clique, the relatively average guys at the school. They weren't jocks or nerds or goths or anything like that. They were just normal. They were pretty good students who were not especially active in the social life of the school, but they weren't shunned from it either. They were never picked first for gym games, but they were not picked last either. Because they occupied a similar social position, Jon and Jerry found themselves together a lot. They were in the same classes, spent time with the same people, did many of the same extracurriculars, and even lived in the same neighborhood because their parents were in the same income bracket. That meant they had a lot in common, but it also meant they were in constant competition for the same things, especially the same girls. Or, specifically, girl: Karyn. Jon had always been closer to Karyn than Jerry, and that had caused no small amount of friction in their relationship. If Karyn hadn't been around, Jon and Jerry might have become best friends. But, as it was, Jerry was jealous of Jon and Karyn's relationship.

If Jon had known Jerry would have been the one to get the wish, Jon would not have been so careless. He knew Jerry was jealous and only kept up the pretense of being Jon's friend so as not to harm his own relationship with Karyn. For her part, Karyn had no idea that Jerry was jealous of Jon or that Jerry and Jon had anything other than an amicable relationship with one another.

So, when Jon arrived at the computer lab during lunch, he found a group of six guys from his class sitting at computers with Jerry at the front of the room.

"Welcome to transformation club, Jon," Jerry said with what seemed to be a genuine smile as Jon entered the room. "We've all been looking forward to your arrival. I have to say, some of the other guys were a little surprised you volunteered for this, but I assured them you were more than excited to be a part of our club."

"What are you talking about?" Jon asked. "I didn't even know there was any kind of club meeting until I got your text this morning. What is this club, anyway?"

"Don't you remember? You were the one who suggested it," Jerry replied. "We have a computer program that allows us to transform one person in any way we want. That person is you. We all agreed to take turns, so each of us gets to transform you for one day over the course of the next week."

Jon realized by this point what had happened. Jerry had gotten the wish.
