Jon felt the stone grew warm. He quickly went to his room.
When he opened a door he saw that his room looked as usual. He wewnt inside and started to look for a place where a gate could be hidden. When he opened a wardrobe he smiled, there it was. After hiding the stone in his stash he jumped into a pulsing vortex.
Meanwhile in another world an wizened old man was sitting in his chamber on top of his tower, reading ancient manuscrypts discovered during his last expedition. Those parchments mentioned a deity that was so rarely mentioned even by oldest and wisest wizards or priests, Gibsonjon. It foretold that one day that will change this world, for worse or better, that he didnt knew.
Suddenly door to his chamber bursted open and his apprentice Ancelm bursted in, pale and with a shocked look on his young face.
"Master Tibald! I...Im sorry but...but you should see this", his voice trembling from excitment.
"Its better be worth it Ancelm", Master Tibald exclaimed and followed his apprentice to the big balcony designed for sky observations.
When he saw the thing that so shocked his young apprentice he also felt a shiver of shock, excitment, maybe even fear. Night sky was much brighter than it should be and there was a fiery object falling down, like a small meteorite.
He realized that today was one of those days when the prophercy described in manuscrypts may be fullfilled. If this was really as important as described, he knew he couldnt take any chances.
"Ancelm!"
"Yes Master?"
"Call the others and prepare for a journey. I will observe where it will land, we are riding out by dawn!"
