Jon looked down at his TG story and smiled. The plot of the story involved a misunderstood police detective who tracks down a group of extraterrestrials who possess the bodies of unsuspecting citizens and try to spread their collective consciousness to other people, before the cop can stop them.
As the stone glowed, he was forced to close his eyes. And when he opened them, he was sitting at a desk. He looked around and recognized it as the police station of his hometown.
"Hey, Jon," a policeman said, walking towards him. "See any little green men today?" he asked, then laughed.
Jon slunk down in his chair a little more. The character in his book was occasionally ridiculed by the other cops. He got the idea from watching the "X-Files" character Fox Mulder. But this character was far less confident. And that's how he felt right now. Jon himself wouldn't have reacted in this manner, but it seemed that along with his character's profession, he also acquired his personality traits.
He sighed, wondering if maybe living his TG story was such a good idea after all.
As he was thinking, however, his cellphone rang. He picked it up and answered it. "Detective Jon Gibson speaking," he said.
