Well, this wasn't good, I decided. Not good at all.

I was stuck looking like a pint-sized dragon, in the game. And if the crazy hacker (?) was to believed, I wasn't going to be leaving the game any time soon.

And I was chained to a throne.

Man, this felt weird. The game was presenting my mind with a VERY convincing experience of being a squat, scaled creature, with no clothes, chained to a throne, sitting on a cold stone floor. It felt completely real.

I tried standing up, but it quickly became apparent that this form was clearly designed to be a quadruped. The hind legs could manage a sort of squat, using the tail for balance, but I obviously wasn't going to be walking anywhere without four on the floor.

I discovered I could still spit gouts of steam while little like this. And still couldn't talk. Hrm.

I examined my chain, but it there didn't seem to be any way to take the collar off, even if I had had hands. (My front ... paws? Feet? in this form seemed well suited for delivering nasty cuts, but not so great for fine manipulation.) It was attached directly to the throne with a giant ring, set into the stone itself. So no help there. One glance at the throne also dashed any ideas I might have had about tipping it over, or somehow dragging it with me. In my current state, I was nowhere near big enough to move it. I tried pushing it anyway, but it didn't even budge.

Looks like I wasn't going anywhere.

On a whim, I tried bringing up the MAPS interface, and much to my surprise it came up. Everything was greyed out and inactive, though. I couldn't make any changes, or take any actions, but I could view my character sheet. See what the computer that was generating my world thought about me.

Let's see...

Hmm.

A few interesting changes. The obvious ones were my race and level. Player levels normally only went up to 50, so the fact that I was somehow level 100 meant that there was probably very little in the game (none of it players) that I had to worry much about. Must have been set by Rylen. He said something about needing me to squish players from time to time.

The racial abilities were particularly interesting. The form changes were all greyed out, and admin-locked (more of Rylen's doing?) but it looked like under normal circumstances they would be under my control. I wondered if there were any way of getting around Rylen's lock.
