Jon listened to Santa as he was told of events that happened centuries ago. Back then, Santa wasn't like what Jon and the rest of the world was familiar with. But he wasn't cold-heartedly evil like the Santa in the North Pole either. If anything, he was a mix of the two - a "person" who deeply cared for children, but one that was flawed by human desires. Then, after coming in contact with a magical crystal of unknown origin, the Santa at the time was split into two - one good, one evil. And the good one, the one sitting here telling Jon all of this, was the one who ended up having a legend wrapped around him. The evil one was forgotten ... until he showed up a few decades ago and declared war against the good Santa, wanting to have what the good Santa had, thinking the world would love him just as much.
"That's incredible," Jon said. "You're telling me that you're half of one person, and your other half is jealous of your fame? Even going as far as trying to take your place, thinking that no one would even notice? Sounds like an old 'Star Trek' episode."
"It's all true, Jon," Santa said.
"Well, how did he end up living at the North Pole? Don't tell me you lost that war you were talking about," Jon said.
