Suddenly Jon was in a different room entirely. It looked like the type of room Sarah McMillan would have. Jon looked around seeing that his closet had mostly dresses and blouses, and only found a few pairs of shorts in the closet, and they were short! and even fewer pants.
The door was half open and Sarah McMillan passed by. She opened the door all the way and said, "Leah, I need that lipstick back."
Absentmindedly, Jon said "Go ahead, I don't need it," Sarah entered the door, walked over to Jon's desk, and took a ruby red lipstick then said "Bye, Leah!" and left the room.
Jon stepped up to a mirror and found that his lips were dark red and waxy tasting, but that wasn't all his face was covered in makeup, green eyeshadow, blush and mascara. and he was wearing a knee length blue and white flirty dress, his short hair had been cut into a short bob cut
Then he realized: he wished to be in the family, and he wished to be treated like a daughter, but he didn't wish to ''be'' a daughter.
So he was being treated like a daughter, dressing and looking like a daughter/sister, even though he was a boy! It seemed like Sarah's family couldn't tell that Jon was a boy. Their senses had been dulled somehow--they didn't know what they were doing! Sarah treated Jon as if he was named Leah!
Jon wondered how it could be that Sarah's family thinks he's a girl.
