Just then, Karyn came in. "Wow," she said. "You are so lucky to have a cloning device. This is so awesome." Karyn, as per Jon's wish, didn't find it strange that Jon had a cloning machine. "Have you made anyone with it, yet?"
"Not yet," said Jon. "I haven't decided yet. I know that I'm making a person and that's a big responsibility. One of my gut reactions is to make a sexual fantasy..."
"Yeah," said Karyn. "That would sound like you." Again, because Jon having and using a cloning machine was perfectly normal, cloning a sex fantasy seemed no more abnormal than any other sexual fantasy.
"But," said Jon, "I wanted to do it without unfairly taking advantage of the clone at all. And I'm sure that the cloning machine would make any type of clone we wanted and make if work physically, but I didn't want to take a lot of chances right off the bat. I had several ideas for 'responsible' cloning that I was planning to try out, like making the clone like what he or she is, but I haven't used them yet."
"You mind if I make a clone later on?" asked Karyn.
"Of course, you can," said Jon. "You're my best friend. Why wouldn't I? Besides, this way we can bounce ideas off of each other."
