On one ordinary night, the eerie tranquility that always permeated the house was abruptly shattered, along with one of the front windows as a crowbar smashed into it. Once it was done scraping off any stray shards off from the frame, a figure carefully climbed over and stepped into what was once undeniably a grand foyer; except now the marble floor was covered in countless layers of dust and cracked in some places, the massive red carpet eaten away by time and all kinds of moths. The chandelier was still hanging up on the ceiling, but the way it creaked even though there was only a slight breeze whistling in through the entrance the intruder had made for themselves made it seem like it could collapse at any moment. Some faded graffiti could be seen scattered about randomly on the walls, no doubt done by some brave teen who knew they could get away with it.

But the figure couldn't have cared less about any of these things. Pulling off their balaclava as it seemed that there really wasn't anybody else here, the young man shook his mop of wiry brown hair as he attached the crowbar to his belt. Clancy had heard all the rumors about this place; that anybody who entered it had never come back out, how the place was haunted, how there was apparently a murder... it didn't scare him at all. Besides, if this place was full of others like him who had disappeared trying to loot this place of any valuables, then it meant there was simply more for him to take, didn't it? And if there were any squatters or people who had the same idea as him, Clancy was sure he'd able to... convince them to give it to him.

Taking the flashlight hanging off his belt, Clancy turned it on and started to scan the place, wondering where the best place to start was. Of course there was obviously the master bedroom, but no doubt whoever had once owned this house knew it was stupid to hide all their valuables in one place. His eyes drifted over the faded paintings, sad that not only was their value lost, but also that even if they were intact, there'd be no way he'd fit them into his backpack. But even now, a smirk had begun to slowly curve on Clancy's face as he thought about all the things he could take... unaware that before the night had ended, it would be the house that had taken him.
