The prom was intoxicating. In fact, for Jonnie, it was literally intoxicating. It was almost as if she was drugged, but the drug's effect was to remove any uncertainty over her and Jon. She'd do whatever she had to do to be with him, even if it did mean wearing a girl's dress.

Jon wasn't affected by the wish, but still, he was dancing with a beautiful girl who loved him... which may have distracted him just enough. The key phrase was "It's a special day; who cares what we do?" So aside from the dancing, and kissing, and talking, they wished for reversible wishes and casually spent the night tossing them around.

By the end of the day, Jon and Jonnie had to go home.

Suddenly Jonnie felt dizzy. "Whoa... Jon..."

"What's the matter, Jonnie?"

"I think we're back to normal. It's like... well, I love you but it's not a forced love. And this dress makes me feel like a crossdresser. I guess the wish is over, and so is the prom."

"Yeah," replied Jon. Of course, until they had both already agreed that the prom was over, the wish wouldn't have worn off.

"We'd better start clearing all these wishes up," said Jonnie. "Except our car. I like the car! We can get rid of it after we get home. Oh... I know, we can wish we won one in a lottery, someday."

"All right. Let's see. Cancel the new coat of paint in the gym, cancel the ability to fly, cancel the statue coming to life and playing in the band, cancel the special dancing award we got. Cancel everyone being unusually nice. Cancel the science teacher who I turned into an anime character because he got mad at us for spilling water on him...."

The next day was a Saturday, and the Sarahs and Nicole were busy gossiping.

"... and the girl was named 'Minmei'. And she was Japanese," explained Sarah L.

"Wait a minute," said Nicole. "That's not a Japanese name."

"I know," replied Sarah L. "I looked it up. It comes from a cartoon and the cartoon's Japanese. It has to be Jon. I don't believe this... all right, when he made us forget Karyn wasn't a blonde, it wasn't on purpose. But this thing... it has to have been on purpose. He just changed someone. Their entire personality. Everyone's memories, too."

"I get the picture," said Sarah. "It's murder, or like murder. Or at least, it's like knocking someone out. If he ever restored her."

"I wonder what we've gotten ourself into," said Nicole. "Sneaking some wishes away from a guy who's trying to act like a soap opera villain. A guy and a girl, rather."

"We can't cry about it," said Sarah. "And if it's serious, we shouldn't play detective. I wish we knew what's going on and if 'Minmei' is back to normal." Magic swirled around them and Sarah let out a sigh of relief. "She is. He just did it for a little time."

"Thanks, Sis. But I can't help but think," said Sarah L. "This poor girl. Everything she remembers is completely fake. It never happened to anyone. Meanwhile, she has a life, and a family, and she just forgot it to be this fake Japanese person who's a fake girl and doesn't even have a real Japanese name. And then Minmei has her own dreams and hopes as Minmei, and now those are gone in order to bring her original life back. Everyone thinks they did things... made her happy, made her sad, helped her with her homework or played tricks on her... and that was all fake too. It's just something a wish put in their head and now they don't even remember the person they once knew for years when it was really a couple of hours."

"We could reverse that," said Nicole. "For a little bit. We could see Minmei again, but we never knew her, and she'd be as fake as she was before." But they all knew it wouldn't really solve the problem. Jon, or his clone, or both, didn't, at one point, care how much of a violation of another person it was to transform him like that. It was probably the worst thing they had ever done with those powers, and the fact that they changed him back was a good sign... but it wasn't the best sign.

"Yeah," said Sarah. "Sis, if I ever get like that, you have complete permission to slap me, pull my hair, or whatever."

"You too," said Sarah L. "Let's watch out for each other, okay? What are sisters for, if not to keep each other from turning as evil as their reputations?"
