"Uh, ready for what?" I asked. Because I heard Karyn's wish, my memories hadn't changed to fit the new reality, so I had no idea what Sarah was talking about. But the way she looked now, and how she was acting, it was clear that Sarah McMillan was both a Goth and a friend of mine ... of ours (Karyn and me), so it was obvious that we had apparently made plans to do something together after school, but what?
"What do you mean 'what'?" Sarah asked, an annoyed and confused look on her dark made-up pale face. "We made plans with Zelda and Athena, remember?"
Zelda and Athena were two Goths that I knew from a lower grade. In fact, they were the same age as my brother Jon. Despite the fact that they were Goths like me, I was actually more friends with Karyn than them, rarely doing anything with them. Maybe things were different now? How would Sarah being a Goth change something like that?
"Sorry, I guess I forgot," I said, hoping that Sarah would buy that.
She eyed me oddly, then shook her head and sighed. "We planned to ..." she started to refresh my memory.
