Jonnie was sweating. Less so now that she was just lying there, but enough that if she walked around like that, someone might wonder. And there were other smells.
She decided that she needed to take a shower to clean up. As Jonnie got up, she realized that she wasn't alone. She and Jon might be the same person, but they couldn't read each other's minds. She'd have to explain. "Jon," she said, "I'm going to take a shower."
"Sounds like a good idea," he replied. "It was just what I was thinking, pretty much."
"We could go together?" said Jonnie. "It's something we dreamed of doing, right?"
Jon grinned. "Yeah. Me in the shower with a girl."
"And me in the shower with a guy, but I never dreamed it would be a guy. The only guy in existence who gives me a hard-on like girls do." Realizing what she had just said, she added "So to speak. I used to get hard-ons, but no more."
"You didn't 'used to' anything," said Jon. "Does it bother you?" he asked as he picked up his clothes.
It didn't bother her as much as it would have a while ago. She knew why, of course. "Just a bit," she said. "I do want my dick back, but not badly enough to be mad at myself for it. Let me get some clothes and we'll go."
Jon grimaced. "That's another thing we forgot. Clothes for you."
"Don't worry!" exclaimed Jonnie. "I can use some old clothes that don't fit, or I can just use my stone to whip something up..." She then realized the bigger problem, and she was sure that Jon did too.
Jonnie was the first to say it. "My stuff... it's all our stuff now. Only it wasn't ever my stuff, was it? I know we agreed to say that everything before was 'us', and not yours."
"You're me!" replied Jon. "All my stuff is yours. I know the feeling, though. We'll have to share the stone. But think of it this way... you'd be willing to share it now, right?"
"Yeah."
"Then I would be too. You're too cute to start angsting."
Despite having Jon's mind, Jonnie wasn't upset at being called 'cute'. If Jon had been called that by a girl, he wouldn't have minded. So Jonnie, who was called that by someone she liked in a way she'd like girls, didn't mind either. As long there weren't other effects, anyway. "Hey, 'cutie', be careful when you say that. If we did it in front of Zoe, we'd never hear the end of it from her."
"All right," replied Jon.
Jonnie had half expected an argument, but it must be hard to really get into an argument with someone so much like yourself. Or maybe it would be very easy if you're indecisive, but so far it was hard, and she preferred it that way.
They looked at the stone, and reached out for it. Both at the same time. Then they stopped. They reached out again and stopped. The next time, Jon reached out first, by a second or so, and pushed the stone over to Jonnie who, surprised, took a moment to notice, because she hadn't been trying to take it either, she had been planning to let Jon have it just like Jon did to her.
"Uhhh... you take it," he said. "We can switch. Alternate days."
Jonnie picked it up and looked at it. "That'll never work," she said. "What if one of us is doing something and we really need it?"
"If we know there's a reason one of us needs it, we can always take an extra day and let the other one have an extra day after that. I think we should get together before making most wishes. We're going to be together a lot and it could get very awkward if I have to keep telling you that your memories are wrong."
"Or me you," said Jonnie. Then she got an idea. "You know, I think I thought of something you didn't?"
"This isn't the first time!" replied Jon. "I thought about the door, remember?"
"True. Anyway, here goes." Raising the stone triumphantly (and uselessly), she made her wish: "I wish that whenever either me or Jon hears a wish, the effect on our memories is the same as both of us hearing the wish."
"Wait a minute," said Jon. "What if we want to affect the other person's memories?"
"If you say 'and Jonnie shouldn't remember this' I should still forget. It's like if you're one person, and you wish for yourself to forget. You'll hear the wish, but you'll still forget. Anyway, we were talking about clothes, right?"
"It's hard to forget," said Jon, "when I'm looking at a naked girl!"
"A naked girl's body," said Jonnie. "I don't feel that much like a girl... I don't think. So got any suggestions?"
"Use the stone?" said Jon.
"DUH!" said Jonnie. "Of course. I wish that I have some clothes from the old boxes in the closet next to the washing machine, that fit me."
As they both felt an irritation in their eyes and saw the stone give off a faint flash of light, Jon added "I meant wish them up from nothing... oh, it doesn't matter."
In front of Jonnie was a pile of clothes. They had a slight stale odor from being in the closet for so long, but they were clean and usable. It was as if she had gone down, gotten the clothes, and brought them back. "Hmm," she said, most of them are our old clothes. And I know we agreed on 'we' but really these are yours. I'm getting hand-me-downs from myself!
"That's because you're a girl, and a little smaller than me. You don't wear the same size that I do!"
Jonnie picked up a white bra. "Well, not all from myself. I think this is Zoe's. Maybe she didn't like the color."
"I don't think she wears black bras all the time," said Jon.
Jonnie picked up a T-shirt, jeans, and the bra, and got some socks and shorts out of Jon's drawer.
"You'll look like a tomboy," said Jon.
Jonnie let out a little giggle. "Uh-huh. My hair's the same as yours and far shorter than most girls' hair, and besides, girls wear shirts and jeans all the time. You'll just have to get used to your clone wearing the same things you do. I mean, would you wear a dress? Maybe as a joke once if a hot chick asked you to, but again and again?"
"Sure I would," said Jon.
"Okay," said Jonnie. Go wear one."
"No!" Then she and Jon both laughed. "All right, you got me there," said Jon as they peeked into the hallway. Then, covering their private parts with the clothes, they quickly ran to the shower bathroom after making sure nobody was near to see them in the hall.
