Jon clicked on NO. A cursor blinked in the box next to PERSONALITY 1. Jon typed "Karyn Black." That would insure that he could get along with this new woman.
DO YOU WANT RANDOM MEMORIES?
Again, Jon picked NO. He didn't want to deal with a woman with, say, the memories of some hardened criminal, even if that woman had Karyn's personality distorted through the twisted prism of years of law-breaking and imprisonment. The safest thing to do was to type his best friend's name again.
He was tempted to type in some animal and plant names, but the thought of Sarah Couric - or Katie Ferguson - with the essence of Sarah was exciting enough for now. He glanced at the empty cylinder. One push of a button, he thought, and a beauty will materialize in there. That's all it takes.
