The darkness passed, and nothing seemed different. I was still standing in the middle of the silvery pool, and Rylen was looking over a screen, mumbling happily about stats.

I still couldn't move though. The only immediate difference seemed to be that I was now wearing what felt like some sort of simple collar. It didn't seem to have any breaks or opening mechanism; there was no apparent way of taking it on or off. It was just there.

Other than that, I still seemed to look like Misty, as far as I could tell.

Around then was when something brushed my leg, and felt very strange.

I realized that it was a tail. I had a tail. A big, think tail that looked like something more suited to Godzilla's rear than mine. (Either in the game, or out of it.) Muscular, and covered with dark green scales, it had a ridge running down the top, and cumulated in a small barb at the end. The game software somehow handled all of this, and when it brushed against me, I could FEEL it, both from my leg, and from the tail itself. Somehow, the game was doing an excellent job of making me think I had an appendage I'd never had before.

Creepy.

Ahh, and I noticed another change too. Misty's clothes seemed to have been changed to accommodate the tail, as well. The skirt had a slit running up the back of it for the tail to come out from. And it was hard to see, but it felt like my pants had some kind of extra hole for the tail, also.

"Excellent!"

I was startled from my self-exploration by Rylen's satsified voice.

"Everything seems to have worked out just right." He said, turning towards me, and slowly walking towards the pool. "And I must say, you had a good avatar for it to start with, also."
