To find it actually told her that for one month he would be wearing the exact same clothes that his teacher Ms. Owen would wear. That explained why Jon seemed to be so off in such a hurry, he just made the wish, but to make it seem normal, the stone went a step further and constructed this elaborate new scenario to explain his appearance. Karyn was hurt for a variety of reasons. Why did he pick Ms. Owen? Did he like Ms. Owen better then he liked Karyn? Did he get off on wearing women's clothing and never tell Karyn? Had he worn some of Karyn's clothes before? Why did he not let Karyn know he was going to make this wish? Was he ashamed of it, or did he think Karyn would find him to be less of a man? Her emotions were all over the place, being hurt and sad, and clenching the stone.
